Twisted Perfection by Abbi Glines Blog Tour Excerpt and iPad Mini Giveaway!!!

Life outside of her house was a new experience for Della Sloane. The dark secrets of her past weren’t something she ever intended to share with anyone. They would never understand. No one would ever get close enough to find out. There was always a chance she’d go crazy sooner than they expected…

Woods Kerrington had never been one to be attracted to fragile females. They seemed like too much work. He wasn’t in it for the work just the pleasure. A night full of naughty fun had been exactly what was on his mind when he’d laid eyes on the hot little number that didn’t know how to pump gas and needed some help.

What he didn’t know was she was as fragile as they came.
The carefree girl who spoke her mind and didn’t care what the world thought of her was more breakable than he could ever imagine…

Excerpt:

Della took a sip of her margarita and smiled at me. “So, Woods, what do you do for a living?”

I wasn’t answering that truthfully. I didn’t like to give women too much info into my life unless I planned on keeping one around. “I work in management.”

Della didn’t frown or look perturbed that I’d blown off her question. She kept smiling and sipping the sweet yellow drink.

“Obviously you aren’t ready for the hard questions. I’m good with that. How about you tell me what you love to do.”

“Golf, when I get time, and taking really hot females out to eat Mexican food,” I replied with a smirk.

Della threw her head back and laughed. She was so free of inhibitions. She wasn’t trying to impress me. It was refreshing. Her eyes twinkled when she looked back at me. “What’s your biggest fear?”

Whoa. Weird turn of questioning. “I don’t think I have any fears,” I replied.

“Sure you do. Everyone does,” she said before licking at the salt around her glass.

Did she have fears? It sure didn’t look like it. “Becoming my dad,” I said before I could stop myself. That was too much for her to know. More than I admitted to anyone.

A far away expression came over her face as she stared over my shoulder. “That’s odd. My fear is that I’ll become my mom.”

Her big blue eyes blinked rapidly and a smile came back on her face. Where ever she’d gone mentally she was back. Thinking about her mom wasn’t something she wanted to do and I understood that.

“What do you love to do?” I asked her wanting to change the subject back to something light.

“Dance in the rain, meet knew people, laugh, watch old eighties movies, and I like to sing,” she replied then smiled at me before taking another sip. At this rate she was going to get hammered if I didn’t watch her closely.

DISSONANCE by Erica O'Rourke Cover!!!!!

OHMYGOD!!!! I love this cover so much! Can I marry it? I'm not only excited about the cover but the book also. I love Erica's Torn trilogy and I can't wait to see what she comes up with next! Let me know in the comments what you think about this gorgeous cover.

For Delancey Sullivan, alternate universes aren’t just a theory: they’re a way of life. Every time someone makes a choice – to eat breakfast or skip it, to sneak out or stay in bed – parallel realities are created, and echo versions of ourselves take the roads not traveled in the Key World. As a Walker, Del navigates between the Echoes, keeping the dimensions in harmony. But when her own choices go horribly wrong, she must decide between her heart and her duty – and live with the consequences.

Otherborn by Anna Silver Review and Giveaway

Rating: 4 out 5 Stars

London and her teenage friends live in a reprocessed world.

Confined within Capital City’s concrete walls, London has done the impossible and the illegal. She’s created something New- a song. But her mentor, club owner Pauly, is not impressed. Since the historic Energy Crisis forced everyone behind walls generations ago, the Tycoons have ensured there is truly nothing new allowed under the sun. Pauly warns London to keep her song to herself, if she knows what’s good for her.

What he doesn’t know, is that London is keeping an even bigger secret: she dreams. And she’s not alone. London’s band-mates and friends have begun dreaming as well, seeing themselves in “night pictures” as beings from another world. As Otherborn, they must piece together the story of their astral avatars, the Others, in order to save their world from a dreamless, hopeless future.

When Pauly is murdered and an Otherborn goes missing, London realizes someone is hunting them down. Escaping along the Outroads, they brave the deserted Houselands with only their dreams to guide them. Can they find their friend before the assassin finds them? Will being Otherborn save their lives, or destroy them?

Review:

You know when you sometimes read a book and you are so into it that you feel what the characters are feeling? That's how I felt while reading Otherborn. Anna Silver made me feel how I would feel if I lived in this dystopian world, which was terrifying. This world is dark and scary. And I loved it.

London was a badass. From the first scene in the book were she grabs a cigarette and smokes it, I knew I was going to love her. I'm not saying that smoking is good but it's rare to see a female character smoking. Otherborn was refreshing and did I say dark? Yes this read is in the darker side of the dystopian genre.

The book is a little slow in the beginning and you have to get used to Anna Silver's writing but at the end it was a fantastic read.

Sprung Book Blast

Sprung (Book 2 of the Witchbound Series):

Since she discovered magic, seventeen-year-old Skye Jackson's life is almost perfect. Almost. Even perfect has its glitches.

What happens when the one with all the power makes the biggest mistakes? Welcome to my life.

Four months ago, I couldn’t have been happier. When my parents got divorced, I wasn’t exactly thrilled. Especially when Mom married a guy half her age. But then I found out I wasn’t the average Joana. Discovering magic existed and, best of all, I could use it, made everything easier to deal with. That is until I got a little too spell happy. But what girl wouldn't defend her best friend against a world-class creep? Now I’m stuck in a nightmare, forced to make life and death decisions I never dreamed I’d face.

Love the magic, hate the responsibility.

Book Trailer

Roots
Seventeen-year-old Baltimore Land just wants to be normal, but magic has other plans.

I don’t consider myself a witch, that's my parents' thing. I've never really believed in magic either. Sure, I tried it a few times. Fell for the whole “magic happens” thing. But it didn’t happen to me. No amount of rhyming stopped my parents from moving me halfway across the country. Not one spell stopped me from being labeled the town freak.

And worst of all, no matter how many times I begged the Universe to bring my twin back, I was ignored. Until now.

He’s back all right. And in a magical bind of his own. Not the magic-won’t-work-for-me kind either. In fact, it’s working a little too well. Too dark. Too deep.

It turns out our entire family’s magical roots run just as deep and my brother didn’t end up where he is by accident. So I’m going to help him. But magic isn’t really on my side. Nope. Once I finally get the craft under control, I’m expected to abandon the one person in the world who’s closest to me, just to save myself

Deadly Kisses by Kerri Cuevas Review and Giveaway

Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars

Aiden Grant is seventeen, has a killer kiss, and a boss who used to be President, back in the old days. You see, Aiden is a grim reaper and his kiss welcomes the newly dead. But Aiden’s pleasant grim reaper lifestyle is in jeopardy. And it’s not only because Honest Abe keeps throwing out history lessons with reaping assignments, just to confuse him. It’s because Aiden’s next assignment is to reap the soul of Bee, the only girl he has ever loved.

When Aiden’s kiss of death fails, intertwining their souls, Bee is still very much alive and they are both in trouble. The ancients want Bee, who has special powers of her own, and they’ll do anything to get her.

Some rules are meant to be broken—even if that means Aiden must bargain with his own soul to save Bee. Who knew the afterlife could get so complicated?

Like a lot of books out there, there are some good things about Deadly Kisses and some that are not as good. I loved the world building. Cuevas is a great story teller. I enjoyed the whole grimm reaper aspect of the book and how different it was from your typical YA read. I didn't click with Aiden's character instantly. My first impression of him was not good but then he redeemed himself. Bee was actually my favorite character and at times I wondered why wasn't she the narrator.

What I didn't like about the book was that sometimes I felt a little lost and that Aiden and I didn't see eye to eye for a small portion of the book. But that's it. I think it was a great love story and I really want to know what happens with the characters in the next book. Deadly Kisses was a quick read and you should definitely give it a try.
