Terrible Thursday #4: Die For Me

Terrible Thursday is a weekly meme hosted and created by bookittyblog. Here I will feature one book that had a Terrible day. Either because it had a bunch of bad reviews and I loved it or everybody else loved it and I did not.

Die For Me (Revenants, #1)In the City of Lights, two star-crossed lovers battle a fate that is destined to tear them apart again and again for eternity.
When Kate Mercier's parents die in a tragic car accident, she leaves her life--and memories--behind to live with her grandparents in Paris. For Kate, the only way to survive her pain is escaping into the world of books and Parisian art. Until she meets Vincent.

Mysterious, charming, and devastatingly handsome, Vincent threatens to melt the ice around Kate's guarded heart with just his smile. As she begins to fall in love with Vincent, Kate discovers that he's a revenant--an undead being whose fate forces him to sacrifice himself over and over again to save the lives of others. Vincent and those like him are bound in a centuries-old war against a group of evil revenants who exist only to murder and betray. Kate soon realizes that if she follows her heart, she may never be safe again.

Before anything, I want to say that I love the cover. The red makes it stand out and the girl's dress is amazing.

I imagine you guys want to know why this book made it to the Terrible Thursday list. Well it wasn't because I read it and didn't like or because it has lots of bad reviews, (Goodreads rating 4.07. That’s pretty good rating). It’s here because of ONE review. I read this review on Amazon and after reading it I decided not to buy Die for Me. That one review, made me change my mind. I don’t know why maybe because the review seemed honest and it was kind of hilarious to read.

Anyway, I would like to know what do you think of Die for Me. Is it just like Twilight but with zombies instead of vampires? Should I give it a try?

  1. I highly, extremely, most definitely recommend reading Die For Me. Talk about a gorgeous, amazing story. The characters were great, even the minor ones. Vincent was so swoon worthy, wow you can't not fall in love. The mythology of revenants was so fascinating to learn about. The setting is in Paris and the details of the city is amazing, it's like your right there with Kate. I seriously loved this book and I can't wait til Until I Die comes out.

  3. This was such a great book. I especially love the fact that this book was different from the usual paranormal book. It didn't have the typical werewolves/vampire/fey stuff. My favorite part of this book is the setting and descriptions. The author made me feel like I was in Paris eating a crepe while walking through the beautiful starry night. I would suggest that you at least try to read this book. I bet it will surprise you and make you glad you read it. :D
