Waking up in Vegas was never meant to be like this.Is it ok to say that I love reading about complicated couples? Very bad boy + your average Jane = 1 entertaining book, if done well of course. I like it when they hate each other, but they don’t, they are just too stubborn to realize that they love each other. I also love the anticipation and the moment when every emotion is too much to hold, and then they can’t anymore and have to let it out in some way. Well, Lick gave me what I like.
Evelyn Thomas’s plans for celebrating her twenty-first birthday in Las Vegas were big. Huge. But she sure as hell never meant to wake up on the bathroom floor with a hangover to rival the black plague, a very attractive half-naked tattooed man, and a diamond on her finger large enough to scare King Kong. Now if she could just remember how it all happened.
One thing is for certain, being married to rock and roll’s favourite son is sure to be a wild ride.
There are different levels of angst for me in romance, New Adult and contemporary books:
Too little (boring)
Almost too much (perfect!!)
Too much (turn off)
Lick was in between “moderate” and “almost too much”. To me that was good enough to keep me reading until late at night. I could not put this book down! Music, tears, mean girls, lies and the sexual tension were enough to make my drama loving heart stop beating a few times. I can’t say much without spoiling it, but I’ll say that David is hot enough to melt your e-readers.
The only thing I don't like about the book is the emo-goth cover. I feel like it doesn't go with the book. But that's only a cover right? What matters is that Lick rocked!
With a worthy to remember heroine and perfect pacing, I say that Lick is a must read!
