Today sitting on the Virtual Chair is Ash from Smash Attack Reads! You can follow her on Twitter and Facebook! Don't forget to visit her awesome-sauce blog!!!
Have you ever bought a book just for its title?
Um, yes. Recently during the #DoinItDirty read-a-thon, I bought a novella called Sporting Wood. Heh. I couldn’t pass it up.
Who’s your favorite villain?
I have SO many, but the first one to come to mind is Al from The Hollows series by Kim Harrison. Here’s a quote from my “Supporting Characters” post:
“Algaliarept is next on my list of awesome supporting characters, though I am truly unsure of what he actually supported, aside from his own agenda and my racing heart. Al is one scary ass demon who nearly cleaves Rachel’s head clean off during their first encounter. He likes to take up form as an old school Brit with a long green crushed velvet coat and cool red-tinted glasses, but don’t let his dashing looks fool you. He will bring the pain. Why do I like him so much, you ask? He’s quite amusing, highly dangerous, very untrustworthy – which adds suspense – but he grows and morphs throughout the series. He is an epic villain, and so much more. I’m always happy when Al has screen time.”
Would you choose to live forever if you could?
My initial thought is YES! I would love to be able to see how humanity morphs over the coming years and experience all that comes with that. But that is also why I want to say No. As much as I love post-apocalyptic and dystopian fiction, I am not sure I would want to truly experience it. And I fear humanity is headed into something of that nature, but far, far down the road.
What’s your favorite sound?
I love this question! It’s probably my cat’s meows. All three of them are very distinct and while they can drive me nuts with their mewing, I adore the sounds because it reminds me how much I love them!
Vampires or Angels?
ANGELS! I love me a good fallen angel story. Vampires will always be my first paranormal love, but I enjoy experiencing other paranormal and fantastical beasties these days.
How far into a book can you tell if you are going to like it or not?
It’s usually pretty quickly, but I give it about 100 pages before I officially DNF it.
What's your favorite pizza topping?
Pepperoni for the everyday pizza. Spinach and Goat Cheese for the fancy kind. J
Would you rather have super strength or super intelligence?
Intelligence always wins, methinks.
What book are you most excited to read this year?
I’m excited by quite a few Fall releases! Passenger by Andrew Smith, Girl of Nightmares by Kendare Blake, Isolation by Dan Wells, Outpost by Ann Aguirre, Lord’s Fall by Thea Harrison, Middle Ground by Katie Kacvinsky…
What are you currently reading?
At this moment, I’m reading Venom by Jennifer Estep. It’s the 3rd book in the Elemental Assassins series, and I am in LOVE with Gin Blanco! She is one of the BEST urban fantasy heroines I’ve come across in a long time. She blows my socks off! I’m also reading Gathering Blue by Lois Lowry. I recently read The Giver and was really impressed.
Thanks to Ash for being awesome and answering my questions!! Aren't her cats adorable??!!
